Delhi police’s failure reminds 1984 Sikh carnage, says Naresh Gujral while exposing Police’s inaction on his complaint

NEW DELHI, India—SAD parliamentarian Naresh Kumar Gujral has said that the failure of Delhi police in protecting the lives and properties of minorities reminds the 1984 Sikh carnage carried out in Delhi. He said that nobody wants a repetition of whatever happened in 1984.

Naresh Kumar Gujral has also written a letter to the Delhi police chief Amulya Patnaik expressing concern over Delhi police’s failure in protecting minorities during riots.

Interacting with the media, Naresh Kumar Gujral said that there is a panic among people belonging minorities living in Delhi because the Delhi police cops didn’t save minorities and their properties. “It was same like what we saw during the 1984 Sikh carnage,” he added.

Sharing the details of letter written to Delhi police chief, Naresh Kumar Gujral informed that he has written in this letter how the police didn’t come to protect 16 people of minorities, who were surrounded by rioters, despite getting informed by him. “If the Delhi police cops didn’t listen to a parliamentarian then the condition of law and order in Delhi can be guessed easily,” he added.

“On February 26, a person called me for help at 11:30 pm while informing that he was stuck in a house near Ganda Chowk of Maujpur along with other 15 people. I immediately called the Delhi police for helping these people but later I was shocked to know that the cops didn’t provide any help,” he added.
