550th Parkash Purab: 2020’s first religious procession begins from Sultanpur Lodhi

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Commemorated to the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Sahib, the first large religious procession of this year begun from Sultanpur Lodhi on February 22 amid echoes of Sikh ovation ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’. Notably, this religious procession will conclude at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib on March 7 after traversing through 16 districts of Punjab.

SGPC appointed Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh was specially invited on this occasion.

It is noteworthy here that a Mukatsar based Sikh body named Nirol Seva Sansthan (Dhoolkot) is organizing this religious procession with the support of SGPC.

In this religious procession, the world’s largest models of Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib have been placed on big trailers. A big moving manifestation of Sikh history is also a part of this religious procession. “Jathas on elephants and horses are increasing the beauty of religious procession,” managing Director Dr. Jagdeep Singh Sodhi informed Sikh24.
