CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Renowned vocal artist Maithili Thakur today paid obeisance at sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib. She was accompanied by her father and two brothers.
Notably, Maithili Thakur is in Punjab these for performing Gurbani Kirtan in several Gurmat Samagams.

What is ‘paying obeisance’ please? Is it some kind of monetary offering to the Sikh gods? Please ‘ardon my ignorance. I don’t understand these difficult words. Also, what is’ sanctorum santorum’. Is this a Sikh word?
