Peshawar based Sikh leader quits Pakistan claiming life threats to his family members

LAHORE, Punjab—Peshawar based Sikh leader Radesh Singh Tony, who heads Pakistan Minorities’ Alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s, has left Pakistan amid life threats by some radical elements.

Notably, Radesh Singh Tony had shifted to Lahore in December-2018 after getting attacked twice by two unidentified assailants in Peshawar.

Interacting with media from an undisclosed location, Radesh Singh Tony informed that he became helpless to quit Pakistan keeping in view the threat to the lives of his family members. “Life threats don’t matter to me, but I don’t want my family members to suffer because of me,” he added.

It may be recalled here that Radesh Singh Tony had unsuccessfully contested the election from Peshawar in 2018.
