400th Parkash Purab: Punjab government announces year long celebration events

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—On January 7, the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh to celebrate the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji on April 18 next year. He has directed the state’s Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department to organize a mega function on Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s 399th Parkash Purb at the historic town of Baba Bakala and the concluding function on his 400th Parkash Purb at Anandpur Sahib on April 18, 2021.

Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, alongwith Bhai Mati Dass Ji, Bhai Sati Dass Ji and Bhai Dyala Ji, was martyred by Aurangzeb in 1675 for challenging the forceful conversion of Hindus/Kashmiri Pandits and non-Muslims to Islam.

“Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s unparalleled and supreme sacrifice to uphold the value of righteousness, truth and freedom of faith would be always be remembered by one and all and His teachings must be disseminated in every nook and corner of the world,” said Captain Amarinder Singh.
