Four million devotees visited Golden Temple Plaza during last three years

dateline:Around 4 million devotees have visited Golden Temple Explanation Center (Golden Temple Plaza), which is situated in the basement of Clock tower side entrance plaza of Sri Harmandir Sahib, during the last three years since its start on January 1, 2017 . Notably, the multimedia plaza constructed on 8350 square meter in the old Ghanta Ghar Chowk in Amritsar is being looked after by the Amritsar Cultural Tourism Department Authority (ACTDA), which is also taking care of the Heritage Walk Street along with this Explanation Center.

General Manager Tajinder Singh said that the Golden Temple Plaza has become the center of attraction for the pilgrims visiting Sri Harmandir Sahib from all over the world. He added that tourists are made aware about the history of Sri Darbar Sahib, daily routine activities and the teachings of Gurbani in simple language through different techniques in the four galleries built in this multimedia plaza.

“Apart from Punjabi, translation in Hindi and English is also being provided free of cost,” he informed.

Sharing information about the galleries, Tejinder Singh said that first gallery has been named as “Jot Mein Jot’ and the devotees are made aware about the lives of Ten Gurus, their holy messages to the humanity and their sacrifices for the religion.

“The second gallery has been named as ‘History of Golden Temple’ and in this history of Sri Harmandir Sahib is narrated through projection of 2700 by a Beri while the third gallery is named as ‘A Day of Golden Temple’ and through this, yearly activities in Sri Darbar Sahib are explained,” he added.

“Similarly, fourth and last gallery is named as ‘Submitting gallery’, in which teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to the entire humanity and about the greatness and importance of Panj Kakaars are preached,” he said.

He informed that after visiting to the Golden Temple Plaza and Heritage walk street, the Director of the Punjab Tourism Department, Malwinder Singh Jaggi has assured that new permanent exhibitions would be conducted in coming days.� “Information boards will also be set up to give a new look to Golden Temple Plaza,” he added.�
