:dateline:The 2020 calendar released by the Punjab government doesn�t portray January 2 as a bank holiday i.e. the 354th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji as per amended Nanakshahi calendar. Due to this reason, a sharp outrage is being observed among bank employees and they have sought holiday on January 2.
Criticizing the Punjab government for not including Guru Gobind Singh Ji�s Parkash Purab as a bank holiday, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has sought immediate inclusion of Guru Sahib�s Parkash Purab in the list of bank holidays. He has also sought inclusion of Vaisakhi and the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji in this list.
