:dateline:Be it Canada, United States, United Kingdom or any other part of the world, through their hard work, Sikhs have made a unique identity wherever they have migrated. Due to the community’s efforts, Sikhs in Dubai are now just about to get a brand new Gurdwara Sahib constructed in Ras Al Khaimah.

A Gurdwara existed in Ras Al Khaimah, which was constructed in a company’s private building. The Gurdwara operated every day, where the company’s employees paid homage daily. On weekends, the Gurdwara saw a large number of devotees come from nearby towns as well.

With the sangat’s efforts, construction of Gurdwara of Sri Nanak Darbar Sahib Ras Al Khaimah is now going on and it will soon have its own building outside of the company where it earlier existed. It should be noted that the UAE only has two Gurdwaras, and this is the second Gurdwara which is officially recognized by the UAE.

To build a separate building for a Gurdwara in Ras Al Khaimah took nearly about one year time to get permission from the Government. The land was given free of cost by the Government for the construction. Now, construction of Gurdwara Sahib has been started after performing the Ardaas with the cooperation of Sangat.

“Model of Gurdwara Sahib is also being liked by the Sangat,” said Gurjant Singh a local worker who visits the Gurdwara sahib often. “Local employees are contributing in the construction by serving day and night,” he added.

Jaspal Singh, another employee who visits this Gurdwara said that it is a matter of pride for the Sikh community that construction work of Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar has been started on the occasion of 550th birth ceremony of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
