When a 10 year old child questioned Journalist, “How can they expel me from my country?”

:dateline:A 10 year old Muslim child named Mohammad Kaif was also among the thousands of protesters opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act in New Delhi on December 20. His head was hardly touching the barricade pole installed by the police.

A banner scripted with Rahat Indori’s poetry line “Sabhi Ka Khoon Hai Shamil Yahan Ki Mitti Mein, Kisi Ke Baap Ka Hindustan Thodi Hai” was waving just above him.

Standing below the banner, Kaif innocently questioned a journalist, “How can they expel me from my country?”

The journalist was standing answerless with tearful eyes.

  1. Children should not have to worry, nor adults. Such a foolish way to be addressing, identity or registration of citizens. It has cost more than 15 deaths, fractured bones, injured hundreds, some detained are missing after police took them. Like the history teacher in Uttar Pradesh. All these violations, abuse, I have seen videos of police in some places stone pelting, why? Then lathicharging protestors who are unarmed and sat on floor peacefully. It is a terrible unleashing of violence on citizens. Those who lost their life, not even a mention of their names by the Establishment. This is mob rule, by Government. How can anyone put trust or confidence in any Law. First Officials need to respect law, and drop colonial style repression. British left long ago… Why is there still oppression of this nature? Free the detained, provide support to families of those killed.
