:dateline:The Pakistan government has constituted a special wing of Punjab Rangers for the security of Kartarpur corridor. On the recommendations of Pakistan Military�s General Headquarter Rawalpindi, the Economic Coordination Committee of Pakistan has approved Rupees 300 million for this special wing.
The Pakistan government has taken this initiative keeping in view the rising count of pilgrims to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib from India as well as the Pakistan. It is learnt that around 1500 pilgrims are arriving into Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib daily from India while this count reaches in between 5,000 to 8,000 in case of pilgrims from Pakistan on Sunday or any other official holiday. �
It is noteworthy here that the security of Kartarpur corridor is currently being looked after jointly by the Punjab Rangers, Special Tourism Police Force and ETPB Police. Beside it, around 250 security cops have been deployed by the Frontier Workers Organization for the security of corridor.
