Rajasthan CM approves Anand Marriage Act

:dateline:On December 4, the Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot approved a proposal to implement the Anand Marriage Registration Act in Rajasthan. With the implementation of this Act, the Sikh couples won’t require to register their marriages with government authorities or court after getting their marriages solemnized and certified by Gurdwara authorities.

Addressing the Sikh sangat at a Kirtan Darbar organized here in commemoration of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Sahib, Gehlot said that he has approved the proposal for implementation of the Rajasthan Anand Marriage Registration Rule, 2019.

Gehlot also clarified that the Sikh students there was no legal ban on wearing symbols of Sikh faith like Karaa, Kirpan or Pagri while appearing in any competitive and school-college examinations.
