Released political Sikh prisoner thanks Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa

LUDHIANA, Punjab—A day after getting released from the Patiala jail, political Sikh prisoner Bhai Shabeg Singh today paid a visit to octogenarian Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa to thank him for continuing the peaceful struggle for the permanent release of political Sikh prisoners. He was accompanied by Sikh activists Bhai Jang Singh and Bhai Bhawandeep Singh.

Sharing the development with media, Bhai Jang Singh informed that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa warmly welcomed Bhai Shabeg Singh and wished him best of luck for his future endeavors. “Bapu Ji gifted a wall clock to Bhai Shabeg Singh as the prisoners are often devoid of clocks inside the jails,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has made it clear that his struggle will continue till all the political Sikh prisoners don’t get released.

It is notable here that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is on hunger strike since January 16, 2015 seeking release of political Sikh prisoners who are languishing in the Indian jails despite completing terms of their life sentences.
