:dateline:The latest statistics released by the Punjab Health Department reveal that the number of HIV / AIDS patients has increased to 75,969 in Punjab. Out of the total 69,87,806 persons, who went through a test for HIV / AIDS in Punjab, 75,969 cases (1.09%) have been found positive.
According to these statistics based on tests conducted till July-2019, Amritsar district has been found worst hit by HIV / AIDS with 16619 while the Fazilka district stands last among the list of 22 Punjab districts.
