Finally, Kartarpur corridor is now open for Sikhs

NAROWAL, Punjab—Finally, the prayers of Sikh community today bore fruit with inauguration of much awaited Kartarpur corridor by the Pakistan PM Imran Khan on Pakistani side and by the India’s PM Narendra Modi on Indian side.

Thousands of Sikh devotees attended the inauguration function at Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in which Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, Pakistani PM Imran Khan, Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu etc. addressed the gathering.

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh thanked the governments of India and Pakistan for taking the initiative of this historic corridor. He said that the Sikhs and Muslims have doctrinal relation as the duo believes in one Almighty Lord.

Giani Harpreet Singh demanded that the Indian government should also build a corridor to Dera Baba Nanak for the 10,000 Sikhs residing in Pakistan. “The Sikh community has immense blessings of Guru Sahib and it doesn’t care about the dollars,” he added.

Giani Harpreet Singh said that the Sikhs have always been critic of atrocities irrespective of the fact whether these were on Pandits of Kashmir or on Muslims of Kashmir.

Pakistani PM Imran Khan and Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also shed light on the importance of Kartarpur corridor in reviving peace in the territory and expressed hope for opening of all the borders between two countries.
