PANCHKULA, Haryana—On November 6, Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s foster daughter Honeypreet Insan, got bail from Panchkula Court. Notably, Honeypreet had earlier filed an application for her bail in a Panchkula court.
It is noteworthy here that earlier sedition charges against Honeypreet and 39 others were dropped yesterday. In fact, this is the case of August 25, 2017, when Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted by the CBI Court for raping her two female disciples. At that time, Honeypreet also accompanied the Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a helicopter to the Sunaria jail in Rohtak.
Honeypreet hadfiled an application for her regular bail on Wednesday after getting discharged in treason charges.
It may be recalled here that when Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was sentenced to life on August 25, 2017, there was a widespread violence. Honeypreet and 39 others were charged with sedition including Aditya Insan, spokesman for Dera Sirsa also.
An FIR number 345 was registered against all these in the police station at Sector-5 in Panchkula. The chargesheet filed by the police said that the violence in Panchkula had been first planned at the headquarters of Sirsa cult. The five accused, including Aditya Insan, have been declared fugitives by the court.
