Navjot Sidhu gets clearance to attend inauguration ceremony of Kartarpur corridor on Pakistani side

NEW DELHI, India—Latest media reports reveal that the Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been permitted by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to attend the inauguration ceremony of Kartarpur corridor on the Pakistani side. The development has come after repeated reminders by Navjot Singh Sidhu to the MEA on his application seeking political clearance for his visit.

It is noteworthy here that Pakistani PM Imran Khan has specially invited Navjot Singh Sidhu for attending the inauguration ceremony of Kartarpur corridor on November 9.

On November 6, Navjot Singh Sidhu had sought permission from the Centre for his clearance to visit Kartarpur corridor’s inauguration ceremony.

Watching no response from MEA, Sidhu put repeated reminders and finally the MEA has permitted him to attend corridor’s inauguration ceremony on the Pakistani side.  

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Pakistani High Commission has also issued visa to Navjot Singh Sidhu for attending Kartarpur corridor’s inauguration ceremony.
