Imran Khan waives off entry fee and passport requirement for pilgrims visiting Kartarpur

 

:dateline:On the historic eve of the 550th birthday celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to waive off the $ 20 entry fee for the Sikhs aspirant of paying obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib via Kartarpur corridor. Also, the Sikh pilgrims won’t require a passport as their identity proof instead they can carry any proof of identity.

Besides, the Sikh pilgrims won’t also have to apply 10 days prior to get permission for their pilgrimage to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

�For Sikhs coming for pilgrimage to Kartarpur from India, I�ve waived off 2 requirements: they won�t need a passport-just a valid ID; ii) they no longer have to register 10 days in advance. Also, no fee to be charged on day of inauguration & on Guruji�s 550th birthday,� tweeted Imran Khan at 7:37 am (IST) today.

The Sikh pilgrims, who will be visiting Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib on November 9 and 12, will enjoy these relaxations.

It is pertinent to note here that the Pakistani PM Imran Khan is going to inaugurate the much awaited Kartarpur corridor on November 9. Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been specially invited to attend this inauguration ceremony. �
