High Court dismisses plea against relief to Ex-DSP who murdered Jaswant Singh Khalra

:dateline:On October 19, the Punjab & Haryana High Court dismissed the petition moved by Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra against relief granted to the former DSP Jaspal Singh, who was addressed life sentence for abducting and murdering the Human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

Quashing Bibi Khalra’s plea, the High Court’s division bench headed by Chief Justice R.S. Jha and Justice Rajiv Sharma stated that such matters cannot be challenged through appeals in High Court instead should be taken up in the Supreme Court of India.

In this petition, Bibi Khalra had submitted that the facts did not justify constitutional mercy for a police officer who abused his power to kill a citizen simply advocating the rights of victims.

It is pertinent to note here that the convicted former DSP Jaspal Singh was making attempts to get a premature release, but the Punjab government had declined his case for premature release vide order dated August 30, 2018, on the ground that the Government of India had not recommended his case for early release.

Later, the Single Judge had quashed the order passed by the Punjab Governor and the state government was again directed to initiate the process and consider his case for premature release after consultation, and not consent, with the Central Government. After considering the entirety of the circumstances, it was asked to pass the fresh order.

“If the order was not passed within four weeks, the state would temporarily release the petitioner on parole,” the judge had ordered.

It may be recalled here that Jaspal Singh was convicted for murder and other offences under Sections 120-B, 364, 302, 34 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code before being awarded life sentence in November, 2005, by the Patiala Additional Sessions Judge on the abduction and disappearance of Khalra, general-secretary of Shiromani Akali Dals human rights wing. The case was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

  1. If the justice system cannot deliver and has always failed the Sikhs, it’s time we take matters in our own hands and exterminate such vermin responsible for the genocide of innocent people. It’s a shame we have become so gullible that we have stopped using our brains and mindlessly rally behind traitors of the panth. Our so called leaders have been leading the koum into darkness ever since Khalsa Raj was deceitfully stolen from us. Those who dared speak up against it were first defamed and then killed so there wouldn’t be any questions raised about their deaths. This is why people fear taking about freedom, talking about our homeland, Khalastan. They fear being labelled terrorists and anti-nationals when in fact, the struggle of an independent state arose due to constant attacks on our freedom and democratic rights. The government is the real terrorist and working against the interest of the nation and its people. Competent leaders who have contributed so much to the chardi kala of the koum and have sacrificed everything they had for a better future of Sikhi and Sikhs are being neglected by us, people like Atinder Pal Singh Khalastani. Sikh scholars and revolutionaries are being ignored by us and traitors like Badal, Sirsa, GK among many others are being portrayed as saviours of Sikhi when the evidence suggest they’re anything but. We should all come together and strike as one, fight the government for our rights as one because there’s strength in unity. United we stand, divided we fall. We can settle our issues and disputes later on but the need of the hour is for all of us to join hands and march towards freedom be it akalis or missionaries or nihangs, etc. Don’t let the evil Brahmin control your minds. Wake up before it’s too late.

  2. Human values of Sikhs are not recognized by Indian judges because for them Hindus can enslave Sikhs after 1947 without caring for law and the Consitution of India . Indira Gandhi had issued ORAL orders to the Army to assault Golden Temple complex, Amritsar, Akal Takht, Amritsar and whole of Punjab in June 1984 ! No written orders were issued in gross violation of the Constitution of India ! Hindu communal media did not exposed the role of BRUTAL , ARBITRARY PM of India !!!

  3. This DSP Jaspal Singh murdered a Saintly person S Jaswant Singh Khalra, he should never be released, he deserved to be hanged yet Indian Justice system gave him life imprisonment. Capt Amrinder Singh is Congress party CM, a party who committed genocide on innocent Sikhs in Nov.1984, how can he be impartial to these uniformed gangs. Shame on all who donot see justice being done.
