:dateline:The Punjab & Haryana High Court has lifted ban on the controversial TV serial Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush. Notably, this serial was banned in Punjab by the CM Captain Amarinder Singh following the airing of some highly objectionable scenes about Bhagwan Valmiki.
It is learnt that the Punjab & Haryana High Court bench headed Justice T.S Dhindsa has accepted the petition moved by Colors TV following submission of an undertaking ensuring that no controversial scene will be aired in this serial in future. With this, the ban imposed on this serial has been lifted.
It may be recalled here that the Colors TV had challenged the Punjab governments ban on this serial while claiming violation of the section 19 of the Cable Operators Regulation Act. However, the Punjab governments lawyer had told the Court that the serial was banned as it hurt the sentiments of Valmiki community.
