Stray cattle problem: Dal Khalsa asks Punjab government to lift ban on cow slaughter

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Stating that the menace of stray cattle has reached an alarming position, the Dal Khalsa has asked the Punjab government to lift ban on cow slaughter strictly for economic reasons and to solve stray cattle problem. “In fact, the organisation is in favor of setting up cow slaughter houses in the state,” reads a press note by Dal Khalsa.

Party leaders Harpal Singh Cheema and spokesman Kanwar Pal Singh said that the issue of cow slaughtering was dear to Hindu hearts. Hence, they would like to clear at the outset that their demand had nothing to do with religion or its beliefs.

They said the cow slaughtering was banned in most of parts of India, including Punjab. Since, it is a state subject, we urge Amarinder Singh government to rethink on the issue and lift ban on it. To drive their point home, they added that already in nine states there was no ban on cow slaughter, while in two other states it was partially imposed.

Giving details of their demand, they said lifting ban on cow slaughter would go a long way in the uplift of farmers, struggling to repay loans. It would also check suicides among farmers.

They added that the farmers already had the infrastructure and could keep cows without spending additional money.

“It would fetch good rates. As of now, the farmers were abandoning their cattle at lonely places”, they said.

“Moreover, stray cattle were resulting in road accidents taking a heavy toll of human lives”. Every day, there are deaths on roads due to rising number of stray cattle and government utterly failing to control it.

Clarifying that their intention was not to hurt the religious sentiments of any community, the leaders said the move would boost beef export, besides promoting leather and pharmaceutical industry in the region.

They said now a days only those cows are taken care of who yield milk. Dry cows and calves are poorly fed, abandoned and allowed to die in pitiable conditions.

They slammed the government for imposing cow-cess on people and took exception over the silence of Kisan Unions on this vital issue concerning farmers.

  1. Hindi is a language of Devils not a Single Scripture is it’s out put to justify it as Rashtar Bhasha. Rashtar Bhasha is of India is only Punjabi who had produced Great prophets/ Gurus of the world and an unsurpassable Scripture Shri Guru Granth Sahib and it has produced Great and enlightened Sufis of who are matchless for their splendour in the whole world. What is Hindi before it, Hindu is totally Dull and mean, it is the language of the Mean people and diseased in the strangle hold of caste system. It is their inferiority complex. Please total Sikhs and Muslims be united to face every such effort of them.
Please be conscious and united for it that at Malerkotla the Namdhari/ Kuka act in favour of cows should be condemned collectively, and all Nam Dharis should be rejected in the areas of Sikhs. They are idol worshippers, and need condemnation in Sikhism. Can any one Sikh or any other challenge the food of Ghani Khan and Nabhi Khan, Pir Budhu Shaw, and Mardana and Syn Mian Mir Ji and Pir Bhikan Shaw ? It is a serious blunder of Sikhs done by them from previously by favouring the Nam Dharis. They are all blood suckers of Sikhs from the period of their origin. Men in the religion of Muslims the Bali of any animal including cows is as sacred ritual then why we interfere in their personal food. “In Hindu Classics the bulls were sacrificed and their cries were trembling the earth and heaven.” Puran Singh. It should be done unitedly at any cost.
