SGPC slams Subramanian Swamy for suggesting suspension of Kartarpur corridor’s work

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Strongly objecting over the Subramanian Swamy’s statement about the Kartarpur corridor, the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the Kartarpur corridor is a fruit of prayers offered by the Sikhs for a long time and nobody should object over it. He added that Subramanian Swamy has hurt Sikh sentiments with his shocking statement at a time when the Kartarpur corridor is going to be opened after 70 years.

Notably, Swamy had yesterday said that the construction work of Kartarpur corridor should be stopped with immediate effect.

“The Kartarpur corridor is a path of peace for not only Sikhs instead for the all the citizens of two countries. With the opening of Kartarpur corridor, the communal harmony between India and Pakistan will get robust,” he said.

Longowal has thanked the governments of duo countries for continuing construction work of Kartarpur corridor. He has also expressed hope that the corridor will get operational by the first week of November this year.
