Pakistan reiterates commitment to open Kartarpur corridor

:dateline:Amid highly tensed environment between India and Pakistan over revocation of Article 370 in Kashmir, the federal government of Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to open the Kartarpur corridor in November this year.

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has stated that the construction work of the Kartarpur corridor project will remain continued to provide first visa-free border crossing to the Sikhs living in India.

It may be recalled here that the Imran Khan led Pakistan government had laid the foundation stone of the Kartarpur corridor in November last year, so that the Sikhs residing in India could pay obeisance at this historic shrine on the eve of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The construction work of Kartarpur corridor is almost complete on the Pakistani side, but the pace of construction work on the Indian side is quite slow.
