Four Ukrainian Students Fall in Love with Sikhi At Darbar Sahib, Receive Amrit from Punj Piare

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Four students from Ukraine today took amrit at Sri Akal Takht Sahib from the Punj Piare. These students had come to Sri Harmandir Sahib a month ago and were left in awe after seeing the religious and spiritual practices of the Sikhs.

“These students were studying as international students in China when they came to know about the Sikhs and their practices. During a visit to the Gurdwara, they were left inspired when they saw the concept of free food (langar),” S. Balwinder Singh of the Dharam Prachar Committee told Sikh24.

“About a month ago, these students came to Sri Darbar Sahib and expressed their desire to know about the Sikh religion. They were informed about Gurbani and Sikh history by researchers of the Dharam Prachar Committee and the teachers of the Shaheed Sikh Missionary College, Amritsar,” he added.

“After this, they end up staying at the Shaheed Sikh Missionary College where they studied Sikh history and Gurbani and witnessed Sikh practices. These students were so impressed that after learning about the Sikh religion, they expressed their desire to take amrit and their desire was fulfilled today.”

These students were today honored by the SGPC as they welcomed them to the Khalsa Panth.
