274th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh observed at Sri Darbar Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The 274th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh was today observed at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall situated in Sri Harmandir Sahib complex. A special religious program was organized on this occasion in which Sikh sangat paid tribute to the great martyr of the Sikh community.

Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, the Hazoori Raagi Jatha of Bhai Jagdeep Singh delighted the Sikh sangat with melodious Kirtan. Bhai Sultan Singh performed Ardas on this occasion and Bhai Harmittar Singh read the sacred Hukamnama.

Shedding light on the great martyrdom of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh, Bhai Harmittar Singh said that the life of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh is a source of inspiration for all of us. “Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh was a patient and prideful Sikh who not only lived, but also sacrificed his life while following the path enlightened by Guru Sahib,” he said while appealing the children and youths to take inspiration from the life of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh.

After this, the Dhadi and Kavishari jathas addressed the life tales of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh to the present Sikh sangat.

The students of various schools also participated in this religious program to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh.
