The move came following a thorough discussion on the incident in an executive meet of SGPC held at Sultanpur Lodhi under the leadership of president Gobind Singh Longowal on June 9. In this meeting, the executives decided that a committee would be formed to review the loss of the victim’s shopkeepers.

Earlier, a delegation of victim shopkeepers gave a memorandum to the SGPC president Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal shedding light on the details of damage caused. Although, the owners of these shops had lost their life earnings in this fire originated from a short-circuit in an electricity grid, but fortunately no loss of life had occurred in this incident.
