Captain Asks Modi to Declare Guru Nanak Sahib’s Birthday as ‘National Tolerance Day’

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has today written a letter to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he has asked Modi to declare the Guru Nanak Sahib’s 550th birthday due on November 12 as ‘National Tolerant Day’. In the letter, he has written that the message of love, sympathy and tolerance preached by Guru Nanak Sahib holds same importance today, as it used to be at that time.

“The teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji are as relevant today as they were in his times. The 550th Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is falling on November 12 this year and it would be a befitting tribute to the great Master if the day is declared as National Tolerance Day and it is so observed here in after,” Captain wrote to Modi.
