NORWICH, Connecticut (USA)—On June 1, the state government of Connecticut (USA) inaugurated the memorial for 1984 holocaust in the Otis library in Norwich city. A large sized portrait of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale along with plaque has been installed in this memorial.
Ned Lamont, the state governor of Connecticut, has declared June 1 as “Sikh Memorial Day” and the June month as “Sikh Memorial Month”. A bill in this concern has been also passed by the Connecticut state assembly.
Interacting with the media, Sikh Sewak Society’s president Swarnjit Singh Khalsa informed that the memorial could become a reality after five years of efforts. “This is the first memorial of the June-1984 holocaust in the United States of America,” he added.
