Pilgrimage-2019: Gates of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Opened for Devotees

:dateline:The gates of the hilly Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib were today opened for the devotees following a religious ceremony.

The holy corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was installed inside the Gurdwara Sahib after taking out a religious procession amid echoes of melodious styled salute by the army band. The Raagi Singhs welcomed Guru Sahib by singing Gurbani verses �Aavo Sajna Haun Dekha Darshan Tera Raam� on this occasion.

The appointed Granthi Singh read the sacred Hukamnama (Order of the Almighty Lord) on this occasion.

Later, another Granthi Singh performed Patth of Sukhmani Sahib following which the Hazoori Raagi Jatha delighted the Sikh sangat with melodious Kirtan.

Situated at altitude of 15,197 feet, Sri Hemkunt Sahib is a Sikh shrine in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh master, and finds mention in Dasam Granth, a work dictated by Guru Sahib himself. With its setting of a glacial lake surrounded by seven mountain peaks, each adorned by a Nishan Sahib on its cliff.
