:dateline:Last night, some sacrilege culprits reportedly set afire a holy corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by entering into Gurdwara Sahib of village Hathoa of Malerkotla. The prima facie reveals that the sacrilege culprits entered into Gurdwara Sahib Premises by breaking door lock and then set afire the holy corpus.
Interacting with the media, Granthi Joga Singh informed that he found the door opened when he arrived into Gurdwara Sahib premises at the crack of dawn. �As soon as I entered into Gurdwara Sahib hall, my heart got twitched as the holy corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was residing burnt there,� he added.
The local Police officials immediately rushed into Gurdwara Sahib after getting informed and started investigating the incident.
Interacting with media, IG A.S Roy informed that some samples have been collected from the Gurdwara Sahib. He further informed that the funeral of burnt corpus of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will take place at Goindwal Sahib.
SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal, who also reached on the spot, has sought strict punishment for the culprits who have committed this sacrilege. �Sacrilege incidents are continuously occurring in Punjab. The Punjab government needs to pay heed to bring these sacrilege culprits to justice,� he added. �
Meanwhile, it is learnt that some Sikh organizations have announced that they will not let perform the funeral of burnt corpus until unless the sacrilege culprits are not booked.
