:dateline:Dr. Kirpal Singh, a prominent Sikh historian, today passed away at his residence in Chandigarh following a brief illness. He was 95 years old. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. Dr. Kirpal Singh was renowned for his chronicle work on the Indo-Pak partition of 1947.
The SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal and the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has expressed deep grief over the demise of Dr. Kirpal Singh.
In a sorrowful message, Captain has described Dr. Kirpal Singh as a famous Sikh historian and a significant educationist who contributed greatly to the gradual compiling and expansion of India’s modern and medieval history. He has said that his great contribution will always be remembered by the historians and researchers.
Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives, Captain has prayed for the spiritual relief of the departed soul and giving enough strength to the family members to accept God�s will.
