SGPC Welcomes Allotment of 70 Acres Land for Guru Nanak International University; Ready to Provide Every Possible Aid

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Warmly welcoming the Pakistan government’s move of allotting 70 acres of land for the establishment of Guru Nanak International University at Nankana Sahib, the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the SGPC was ready to provide every type of possible assistance if the Pakistan government wants.

Talking to some selected journalists on May 2, Longowal said that the outline of programs to be organized in Pakistan in commemoration of the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be chalked out after the parliamentary polls in India as the interaction between the governments of two countries was necessary to finalize these programs.

He said that special programs and seminars will be organized by the SGPC at Dhaka University, Nepal, Sri Lanka and other places wherever Guru Nanak Dev Ji went during his life.

Longowal further said that the Mool Mantra Asthan, which will be constructed at Sultanpur Lodhi in commemoration of the 550th birthday celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, will be historic one.

On being questioned about campaigning in favor of candidates of SAD-BJP affiliated candidates during the parliamentary elections, Longowal said that since he is related to the SAD (Badal) so if the party will ask him to campaign in favor of his party’s candidates then he will definitely do it.
