AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, the BJP candidate from the Gurdaspur parliamentary segment, paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib during the wee hours today to receive the blessings of Guru Sahib before filing nomination papers. Notably, Sunny Deol had arrived in the holy city yesterday and had met his party cadre in a hotel.
It is noteworthy here that Sunny Deol had joined BJP a few days back and he was nominated for the Gurdaspur parliamentary seat immediately after his joining. He will compete with the sitting parliamentarian and Punjab Congress head Sunil Jakhar.
