Federal Elections Australia: Greens Party Nominates Harkirat Singh from Gorton Constituency

MELBOURNE, Australia—The Greens Party has announced Harkirat Singh as its candidate from the Gorton constituency for the federal elections to be held in Australia on May 18. The Greens party is the third largest political party in Australia.

It may be recalled here that last time Harkirat Singh had contested election from the Malton constituency.

Interacting with media, Harkirat Singh said that the betterment of his community and the development of hospital, schools, and technical colleges in his constituency will be his primary issues in these elections. He expressed hope that he will receive robust mass support in these elections.  

Inhabited by around 2 lakh voters, the multicultural constituency of Gorton is situated in the west of Melbourne city. According to the previous census, Punjabi is the third most spoken language in Gorton.
