Provisions of sedition law will send shivers down the spine if BJP voted to power, says Rajnath Singh

NEW DELHI, India—Giving a clear cut vision of the BJP’s hardcore approach to crush the right of freedom to speak and express, the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the BJP will make the sedition law so powerful that even the very thought of the provisions of this law will send shivers down the spine if anyone will dare to question the “Unity of India”. He said this while commenting on a poll promise made by the Congress to quash the sedition law as it is being misused to oppress the dissenting people by the BJP led Indian government and the state governments.

“If somebody tries to break India, or disturb the country’s social fabric, or openly questions the unity of the country, should such anti-nationals be pardoned,” he said during in a fanatic speech addressed in Gandhidham (near Kutch, Gujrat) on April 12.

It is noteworthy here that as soon as the parliamentary polls are coming close, the BJP leaders are trying to woo the Hindu voters by infusing the feeling of “Indian Nationalism” in them. Recently, the BJP’s national head Amit Shah has given a controversial statement against the Muslim citizens of India by saying that the BJP will remove every infiltrator from India except Buddhists, Jain and Sikhs.

The misuse of sedition law is at peak in India these days by the ruling governments to oppress the dissenting people. In November-2015, the SAD-BJP led Punjab government had indicted the Sarbat Khalsa organizers under this sedition law to oppress the Sikh demand of justice in sacrilege cases and the indictment of police cops indulged in Kotkapura and Behbal Klan firing cases.
