Kotkapura Firing Case: Ex-SSP Charanjit Sharma Sent to Jail till April 3

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—After grilling the Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma for two days, the Special Investigation Team presented him before the Faridkot Court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) on March 27. After completing some formalities, the Court again sent him to jail till April 3.

It may be recalled here that the SIT had secured two days police remand of Charanjit Sharma on March 25 after naming and arresting him in Kotkapura firing case. The SIT believes that Charanjit Sharma was hand-in-glove with suspended IG Paramraj Umranangal in Kotkapura police firing incident in which many persons had sustained serious injuries.

 As per sources, Umranangal had confessed before the SIT that the Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma reached to Kotkapura along with heavy police force.
