NY Sikhs Raise $1,00,000 to Financially Help NSC for Producing Documentary on Guru Nanak Sahib

NEW YORK, USA—In an attempt to financially help the National Sikh Campaign to complete its documentary project about the first Sikh master Guru Nanak Sahib, the members of Gurdwara Baba Makhan Shah Lobana (New York) successfully raised $1,00,000 in a organized a fundraising event in New York.

It is noteworthy here that the National Sikh Campaign is preparing an hour long documentary on Guru Nanak Dev Ji which will be aired on 200 TV stations of all over America during 2019, when the Sikhs will be celebrating the 550th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism. The production work of this documentary has been handed assigned to Auteur Productions.

In this fund raising event, the Sikh children manifested their skills in the Sikh martial art Gatka. More than 20 Sikh youths displayed their Gatka skills while the others expressed their enthusiasm and support for this documentary project.

Calgary based Tarlok Singh Chugh, an internet sensation on Punjabi jokes, made everyone laugh in this event.  

NSC’s senior advisor Dr Rajwant Singh gave a detailed presentation about the documentary project. He said that the NSC’s goal is to reach out to Americans to make it that the Sikhs should go beyond the traditional way of celebrating this important occasion.
