India’s Divisive Policies Marginalizing Vulnerable People, says UN Rights Chief

GENEVA, Switzerland—In her annual report to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on March 6, Michelle Bachelet, the chief of United Nation’s rights wing,  has warned that the narrow political agenda of Indian government was marginalizing vulnerable people in an already unequal society. She has said that the divisive policies of Indian government will sledgehammer the economic growth of India.

“Reports of harassing and targeting of minorities in particular Muslims and people from historically disadvantaged and marginalized groups, such as Dalits and Adivasis are continuously coming from India,” Bachelet said.
