:dateline:Amid ongoing hostilities between India and Pakistan, the government of India on February 28 said that it was ready to receive the delegation from Pakistan as per the pre-scheduled program to finalize agreement about Kartarpur corridor project on March 13.
The government of India has said that it would welcome the delegation as the project is concerned with the sentiments of a significant population of the country. India has not called it off nor has it stopped the Samjhauta Express train service between India and Pakistan, said the Indian government.
It may be recalled here that the Federal Government of Pakistan had officially asked the Indian government on January 21 to finalize the agreement on Kartarpur corridor while sharing a draft of the agreement with India through the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The proposal for facilitating access of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib to the Sikhs residing in India was scripted in this draft.
Later, the Indian government had accepted the Pakistans call to finalize the agreement on Kartarpur corridor on February 10. A delegation of Pakistani government is expected to arrive in India on March 13.
