:dateline:A day after the induction of Bir Devinder Singh and Harinder Singh Kahlon on February 5, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) registered another success with the joining of former Indian army chief General JJ Singh on February 6. He joined the SAD (Taksali) in Amritsar Sahib in the presence of party head Ranjit Singh Brahmpura.

On being questioned about joining the SAD (Taksali), General JJ Singh said that the SAD (Taksali) leaders have promised him to abide by the basic constitution of Shiromani Akali Dal.
Ranjit Singh Brahmpura said that his party would contest the Parliamentary polls in alliance with other parties BSP, Lok Insaaf Party, Punjab Ekta Party and Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi. However, he made it clear that the SAD (Taksali) wont form an alliance with the AAP.
The party would soon decide the seat from where General JJ Singh would be contesting the election he added.
