Allow Hindus Also to Pay Obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib, Captain Asks Pakistan

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s decision of allowing only Sikhs to pay obeisance at the historic Sikh shrine Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib via upcoming Kartarpur corridor. He has said that the first Sikh master Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is worshiped by the followers of all religious faiths, especially Hindus so everyone should be allowed to pay obeisance irrespective of his/her religion.

In a press statement on January 23, Captain has appealed the Indian government to rake up the issue with the Pakistan government while sharing draft of agreement on Kartarpur corridor. “The Pakistan government possesses every right to impose conditions for activities related to its territory, but it should also take into consideration the path enlightened by Guru Nanak Dev Ji” he added while stating that there was no room for inequality in Sikhism.

“There has been a tradition in the Hindu families of India from long time for making their elder son a Sikh” he claimed.
