Now, SGPC Fixes January 26 for Honoring HS Phoolka and Others

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—After an inordinate delay of more than a month, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has now announced to felicitate the Advocates and witnesses on January 26 who successfully landed Sajjan Kumar in jail. Notably, the SGPC has changed the date to honor these Sikh personalities thrice during the last one month.

Initially, the SGPC had fixed December 26, 2018 to honor Advocate HS Phoolka and witnesses Bibi Jagdish Kaur, Bibi Nirpreet Kaur and S. Jagsher Singh but the date was changed citing the martyrdom week.

Later, the SGPC fixed January 22 for honoring these Sikh personalities, but now it has again postponed the honoring ceremony onto January 26.

A press note by the SGPC shares that the venue for honoring these Sikh personalities will remain Teja Singh Samundri Hall while the timing will be 11 am.

It is pertinent to note here that the SGPC is in extreme chaos on this issue as the lawyer HS Phoolka has openly sounded a bugle for neutralizing the political influence on the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee. So, honoring HS Phoolka by the SGPC is not in the favor of those controlling the SGPC.
