Captain Seeks Passport Free Access to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib; Asks Indian Government to Expedite Corridor Work

:dateline:Seeking Khulle Darshan Deedar of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib for the Sikhs residing in India, the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has demanded passport free access for the pilgrims aspirant of paying obeisance at the historic Sikh shrine via Kartarpur corridor. He wrote a letter to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on January 15 asking him put in place a simple procedure which would facilitate Khulle Darshan Deedar of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib, as per the traditional Sikh Ardas (prayer).

It is learnt that the Punjab CM has suggested the Modi led Union government of India that other valid identification documents like Aadhaar Card or Voter Card should also be accepted at Kartarpur corridors check-post so that maximum number of pilgrims could pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

Beside it, Captain Amarinder Singh has also suggested that the system to be applied should also provide for both, day-to-day prayers and “Akhand and Sehaj Paths” which the devotees may like to undertake at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.

Captain Amarinder Singh has also asked the Modi Government to quickly finalize the alignment of the road access and attendant government infrastructure to be built around the Corridor so that the process of acquisition may be commenced without any further delay to ensure early operationalization of the historic Corridor.
