:dateline:The Special Investigation Team appointed by the Congress led Punjab government on the recommendations of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission reportedly grilled the former Punjab cabinet minister and the SAD spokesperson Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema for about an hour on December 29. IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap, member of the five-member SIT, was leading the team which questioned Cheema.
Although the SIT members as well as the SAD spokesperson Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema refused to share the details of this questioning session, but the internal sources have revealed that Cheema was mainly questioned about the meeting called by Sukhbir Badal at Parkash Badal�s residence on September 16, 2015 in which SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars were directed to pardon Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. It is said that the Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema was steering this meeting.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the SIT has questioned around 200 persons including the Police cops responsible for opening the unprovoked firing on the peacefully protesting Sikhs at Kotkapura and Behbal Klan. Former SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh might be the next to be grilled by the SIT.
