:dateline:Latest updates reveal that the Federal Government of Pakistan has sent a 59 page document to the Indian government containing 14 key recommendations about the upcoming Kartarpur corridor. Notably, the Pakistan as well as the Indian government has started working on the corridor project to facilitate visa-free access of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib for the Sikhs residing in India.
Some of the recommendations sent by the Pakistan government are as follow:
- Installation of facilitation centers and security check-posts on both sides of the border.
- Issuance of special permits to the Indian Sikh devotees in groups of a minimum of 15 pilgrims by Pakistan.
- Compilation of record of visitors including their names, travel records and other details by the duo countries.
- The Indian government shall provide a list of pilgrims to Pakistan three days in advance and it will be mandatory for all visitors to bear a standard Indian passport.
- All visitors should be given a security clearance certificate by the Indian authorities.
- Pakistan shall issue permits to 500 visitors per day and local authorities shall reserve rights to admission.
