Sajjan Kumar Moves Supreme Court Against His Conviction

:dateline:A day after getting denied relief by the Delhi High Court to extend the time to surrender till January 31, Sajjan Kumar has challenged the Delhi High Court�s verdict in the Supreme Court. Notably, Sajjan Kumar was addressed life imprisonment in a 1984 Sikh genocide case on December 17.

Sharing the development with media, Advocate HS Phoolka informed that the Supreme Court has intimated him about Sajjan Kumar�s appeal against his conviction by the Delhi High Court via registered post. �The victims had already filed a caveat to pre-empt any ex parte hearing in favor of Sajjan Kumar� he added.

It may be recalled here that Sajjan Kumar was imprisoned for life by the Delhi High Court on December 17 in a case pertaining to brutal killing of five members of a Sikh family in the Raj Nagar of Delhi�s cantonment area on November 1, 1984. The Court had asked him to surrender before the authorities on December 31.
