O motherly friend! I have obtained the wealth of the Naam of the Divine, now my mind has stopped its wanderings (for Maya) and has come to rest. -Guru Tegh Bahadur, Guru Granth Sahib, 1186

Message: As mortals, we devote our lives to the accumulation of wealth and material needs.  We don’t even rest or pause for a moment to reflect on the Divine and the teachings of our Gurus.  All the stress and tension imposed on us is endured in this rat-race. Only when we have accepted the Divine as our Master, do we have peace of mind.  Having done so, we will then have obtained all the spiritual wealth we need and will be free from all desires and wants. This wealth can only be obtained by a devotee from the Divine.

Etymology: From Sanskrit vishraam (rest, pause).
