Badals Apologize for Undisclosed Mistakes; Jakhar Questions Rolling Out of Red Carpet for Badals by SGPC

:dateline:The Shiromani Akali Dal leadership headed by its patriarch Parkash Singh Badal and president Sukhbir Singh Badal today tendered an apology at Sri Akal Takht Sahib for the mistakes that they didnt disclose. Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Parkash Singh Badal said that the Akali leadership has apologized for the mistakes occurred during their tenure.

On being questioned about Bargari agitation, Badal said that he wont make any political comment at this moment.

SADs spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said it was the decision of the party to seek an apology from Guru Sahib and Sikh sangat for the mistakes they committed during their tenure intentionally or unintentionally. He also refused to make any comment on Bargari agitation.

Meanwhile, the drama of apology by the Akali leadership has drawn new controversy due to a major mistake committed by the SGPC executives. Rolling out a red carpet for Badals by the SGPC has come under scanner of their political opponents.

Does a court or a judge ever roll out a red carpet for a convict? Punjab Congress head Sunil Jakhar posed question to the SGPC yesterday.

“I would also like to ask the SGPC chief about his role in the matter. He is setting a bad precedent and bringing disrepute to the top Sikh body. Can every political offender walk on the red carpet and do Sewa? Jakhar added.

Seeking 10 year ban on the Badal clan from public and political life, Jakhar has said that the Badal clan misused the religion in the 10 years of its reign and now in the name of seeking atonement they are using the name of Akal Takht.
