:dateline:The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee is all set to celebrate its 88th foundation anniversary on November 16. Sri Akhand Path Sahib in this concern was laid on November 14 in the SGPC�s head quarter Teja Singh Samundari Hall which will be culminated on November 16.
Sharing the development with media, the SGPC�s chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh said that the SGPC has been playing a vital role uniting the Sikh community onto a single platform. He added that the SGPC is running around 125 educational institutions besides looking after the historic Sikh shrines as per the Sikh code of conduct. �Three former SGPC servants namely Gurbachan Singh Chand, Dyal Singh and Swarn Singh will be honored for their service during the celebrations program� he added.

Formed on November 15, 1920, the�Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee�is an organization in�India�responsible for the management of�historic Sikh shrines in three states of�Punjab,�Haryana, and�Himachal Pradesh�and union territory of�Chandigarh.� The SGPC is governed by the chief minister of Punjab.�The SGPC manages the security, financial, facility maintenance and religious aspects of�Sikh shrines�as well as keeping archaeologically rare and sacred artifacts, including weapons, clothes, books and writings of�the Sikh Gurus.
�
