:dateline:A day before the general house meeting of SGPC to elect its new executives, 130 SGPC members today conferred their voting rights to their party president Sukhbir Badal. Notably, the new executive members of SGPC including its president will be elected tomorrow.
Sikh24 has learnt that the SAD (Badal) affiliated SGPC members conferred their voting rights in a meeting called today under the garb of getting suggestions of SGPC members about the general meeting to be held tomorrow at Teja Singh Samundari Hall. Although, the SAD (Badal) is claiming that the meeting was held in a purely transparent way but the internal sources have informed that only Avtar Singh Makkar, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar and Jathedar Tota Singh were asked to address the meeting for wooing favor of other SGPC members. �
When these four SGPC members expressed their consent to blindly support Sukhbir Badal�s decision in electing new SGPC office bearers, the other SGPC members also gave their consent to abide by Sukhbir Badal�s decision by echoing Sikh ovation. �
Out of the total 191 members of the SGPC’s general house, 170 members are elected through SGPC elections while 15 are nominated. Six Singh Sahibans take part in the general house meeting to fulfill the quota of rest six members. But the tomorrow’s general house meeting will be of 180 members as 9 SGPC members have expired while 2 others namely Sucha “Singh” Langah and Sharanjit Singh have resigned.�
