:dateline:In an immediate reaction to the summons served by the Special Investigation Team on November 11, the Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar today posted a clarification from his Twitter account in which he has claimed that he �never ever� met the Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. However, he also indirectly confirmed the presence of Gurmeet Ram Rahim in his locality by saying that he had come to know from social media that Gurmeet Ram Rahim was staying in his locality Juhu, Mumbai.
�I am proud of being a Punjabi and have the highest regard for the Sikh faith. I shall never do anything that would even remotely hurt the sentiments of my Punjabi brothers and sisters, for whom I have utmost respect and love� he wrote while shedding light on his priority to promote Punjabi culture via movies.
It is noteworthy here that Akshay Kumar has been asked to appear before the SIT of Punjab Police on November 21. Apart from Kumar, the SIT has also summoned former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal. The summons have been issued under Section 160 of the Cr.P.C, requiring attendance during the investigation.
Akshay Kumar’s name had also surfaced in the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission�s report on the sacrilege incidents.
